Built new for 2007, this is the same Camping World Chevy that took the checkered flag in last year’s Bashas’ Supermarket 200. Bowyer also won with this car last May at Richmond International Raceway. The Emporia, Kan., native also raced this car last July at New Hampshire Motor Speedway (St. 3 – Fn. 6). BB&T, Bowyer’s traditional sponsor in Nationwide Series competition, will be displayed on the lower-rear quarter panels and will return to its usual primary sponsor position next weekend in Mexico City. * Phoenix Facts … In six NASCAR Nationwide Series starts at Phoenix International Raceway (PIR) Bowyer has notched one win, one pole and four top-five finishes. You had a great year at Phoenix in 2007. You started second and won the first race – won the pole, led a bunch of laps, probably should have won the second race and ended up third. Those were two really solid races for you. “Phoenix is a fun race track and I really enjoy racing there. I think Phoenix is the way tracks are supposed to be. It’s tight in one and two but three and four is a big sweeping corner. Both ends of the race track are completely different. It’s just a lot of fun to race on. You can pass and make things happen there. We’ve obviously had good handling race cars and that goes a long way. You kind of control your destiny at a place like Phoenix.” Is Phoenix a race track you circle on the calendar knowing you should run well there? “That’s what’s exciting about driving RCR cars. I know we’ve got Nationwide cars that are capable of winning week in and week out, its just up to us what we do with them.”
