CONCORD, NC – May 7, 2008 –  COMING TOGETHER: If last Saturday night’s World of Outlaws Late Model Series event at Missouri’s Lebanon I-44 Speedway revealed anything, it’s this: Here comes Shannon Babb.

With his first WoO LMS victory of the 2008 season, Babb served notice that his deal driving for NASCAR Sprint Cup star Clint Bowyer’s new dirt Late Model team is coming together very nicely.

“I think we’re finally getting all our ducks in a row,” said Babb, who accepted Bowyer’s ride offer in late December and has been working alongside crewmen Tommy Grecco and Jay Hunt to essentially build a big-time dirt Late Model operation from scratch. “It’s been a lot of hard work in a short amount of time, but we’re getting everything close, real close, to being in line. That’s what makes a real successful team.” Read More!

Winston-Salem, N.C. (January 9, 2008)—Clint Bowyer Racing has tabbed dirt late model standout Shannon Babb to handle the driving duties for its newly formed dirt late model team in 2008. The team, owned by Clint Bowyer, driver of Richard Childress Racing’s No. 07 Jack Daniel’s Chevrolet Impala SS, will be entering its first year of competition among the elite ranks of Dirt Late Model competition. The team plans to compete in more than 60 nights of racing from early February to late November.ClintBowyerRacing_Black.jpg (84537 bytes)

“Dirt track racing is my passion and it’s where I got my start on four wheels,” said Bowyer. “I bought my first dirt late model last year and I was hooked immediately. Thanks to some opportunities that have presented themselves in recent months and support from Chevrolet, I was able to put together a full-time effort with Shannon Babb. Shannon (Babb) is one of the top dirt late model drivers in the country and I’m excited to have him driving for Clint Bowyer Racing.”

Babb, a native of Moweaqua, Ill., has amassed an impressive list of achievements in his time behind the wheel of a dirt racecar. Included among Babb’s many achievements are two Dirt Track World Championship titles and two UMP Summer Nationals Championships. Babb also holds the record for most Summer Nationals wins. Last season, Babb recorded 16 feature victories.

“With Clint's roots in dirt racing and his success in NASCAR, I think this will be a winning combination,” said Babb. “I’m thankful that he (Bowyer) selected me to be a part of his new team and I’m looking forward to this once in a lifetime opportunity.”

Clint Bowyer Racing will call Welcome, N.C., home for the 2008 season. The team will start the year with three new chassis in its shop. Clements Automotive will provide Chevrolet engines. The Bowyer/Babb combination plans to make its debut at East Bay Raceway Park in Tampa, Fla., on Feb. 4.

In addition to Babb, Clint Bowyer Racing also welcomes Jay Hunt and Tommy Grecco as mechanics with the new team. Both Grecco and Hunt bring impressive resumes and a wealth of experience to the team.

A tentative schedule of events will be published at a later date. Please visit clintbowyer.com and shannonbabb.net for more information.
